Cook from a recipe: scaling, checklists and video
Everything on a MagicMeals recipe page: creator credit, embedded video, servings scaler, ingredient checklist, numbered steps and nutrition facts.
In short
- ✦Tap + or − next to Servings to scale every ingredient amount for you.
- ✦Tap an ingredient to check it off as you add it.
- ✦The original video plays at the top, and the creator is credited with a link back.
- ✦Scroll down for calories, macros and the full nutrition panel.
What's on a recipe page
From top to bottom:
- Title, Recipe by with a link to the creator, description, and tags you can change with + Tag
- The video (YouTube, Instagram or TikTok) or the recipe photo
- Prep and cook times
- Add to my food diary, to log or plan it
- Servings scaler, then calories, protein, carbs and fat per serving
- Ingredients with checkboxes, numbered directions and notes
- Full nutrition, then buttons to cook with the voice assistant, add to your shopping list, edit or delete
Scale a recipe up or down
Use − and + next to Servings. Every amount is rewritten for you, so 2 cups becomes 4 cups when you double a recipe, and Ingredients scaled ×2 reminds you it's changed. The steps stay as written, so adjust pan size and times if you scale a lot.
Check off ingredients
Tap any ingredient to cross it out. It's a quick way to gather everything before you start, or to keep your place while you add things to the bowl.
Tip: Want both hands free? Tap Cook this with the voice assistant and say "next" to hear each step.
